FAQ

How long is each session?
Each session is 50-60 minutes in length, please arrive on time so that you get the most out of your session.
Do you accept insurance?
Most insurance companies offer out-of-network coverage for mental health benefits.  I will be happy to assist you with this process by providing you with the necessary receipts and I will offer guidance for your submission.
What are your hours?
I work Monday-Friday; I accept clients as early as 8 a.m. and as late as 7 p.m.  When you call for your initial session we will coordinate our schedules for the most convenient time available.  In an emergency, I will see a client on a Saturday or Sunday when possible.
How do I get started?
Either email or call my office at 404-368-5552 to schedule your first appointment.  I would like to speak with you prior to setting an appointment so that we can be sure that we will be a good fit.   Once we have spoken, you will need to go to my online portal to complete initial paperwork.

What are your fees?
My fees range between $125 – $150 per session.  If my schedule permits, I may be able to offer sliding scale for those with financial restraints.
What methods of payment do you accept?
I accept checks, cash, and credit cards (VISA and MC).  I also accept FSA (Federal Spending Account) debit cards.
How many counseling sessions will I need?
That very much depends on the issues that you desire to focus on and how frequently you come.  In some case, I have had clients come in for just a few sessions but I also have other clients that desire continued support.  Typically, clients schedule appointments either weekly or bi-weekly.
Can I submit the receipt to my health care reimbursement account?
Absolutely! Counseling services are covered under Health care Reimbursement Accounts (HCRA).
Is counseling confidential?
Yes, the law protects the relationship between a client and therapist, and information cannot be disclosed without written permission.

Exceptions include:

Suspected child abuse or dependent adult or elder abuse, for which I am required by law to report this to the appropriate authorities immediately.

If a client is threatening bodily harm to another person/s, I must notify the police and inform the intended victim.

If a client intends to harm him or herself, I will make every effort to enlist cooperation in insuring their safety.  If they do not cooperate, I will take further measures without the permission that are provided to me by law in order to ensure safety.
